i wrote with a friend of mine on saturday night. i say “wrote”… actually we listened to a few crappy ideas i have and then we recorded a rough track of a song i wrote like 6 years ago. country song. i don’t know that i want to do country stuff, or even what the hell i want to do in general right now, but it’s still a good song. i might post it up here later.
i was over there a few months ago and we did some rough recordings of about 4 songs i wrote or am in the process of writing. he emailed them to me today and it felt really good to hear my voice on something new. encouraging for sure.
sometimes i feel like i’m getting too old to be doing things the way i’m doing, but to tell you the truth, i don’t think i could do them any other way. i’m writing songs and exploring what direction i want to take musically, whether as an artist, writer, or god knows what. i’m taking photos much from the same approach as music… figuring out what my style is and isn’t.
